The Lincoln Memorial Is Vandalized!
Lincoln Memorial is shut down after vandals splash paint on it!!!
From The Washington Post
By Maggie Fazeli Fard and Michael E. Ruane
The Lincoln Memorial was shut down Friday morning after vandals splashed light green paint on the statue of the nation’s 16th president and the marble floor around it, U.S. Park Police said.
No words or symbols were painted or written on the memorial, police said. No damage was reported at the Mall’s other memorials and monuments.
Police are reviewing surveillance footage from the popular tourist attraction on the west end of the Mall, but so far no information has been released about who may have been responsible for the vandalism or what may have motivated it.
Carol Bradley Johnson, a spokeswoman for the National Mall and Memorial Parks division of the National Park Service, called the incident “heartbreaking.”
Authorities believe the memorial was defaced about 1:30 a.m. Paint was splattered onto the left leg and base of the 19-foot-high statue of Lincoln, who is depicted sitting in a throne-like chair, gazing toward the Washington Monument and, further east, the Capitol.
A crew removed the paint from the memorial floor using a pressure-washer, the National Park Service said at a news conference, and there did not appear to be any permanent damage.
Workers used ladders to reach paint that was higher up on the statue and scrub it off. The park service reopened the portico steps at 10:13 a.m., and said the chamber would reopen once all the paint was removed.
The neo-classical memorial to the president who emancipated the slaves was designed by Henry Bacon and modeled after an ancient Greek temple. Inscribed on the walls around the statue are Lincoln’s famous Gettysburg Address and second inaugural address.
The memorial is surrounded by 36 fluted Doric columns, representing the 36 states at the time of Lincoln’s assassination.

The Justice Department Want's To Try George For Hate Crimes
Attorney General Eric Holder, in his first post-verdict comments, confirmed Monday during a speech in Washington, D.C., that his department continues to investigate while signaling concern for the position of the Martin family and those -- such as the NAACP -- pressuring the DOJ. He said the department is "mindful of the pain felt by our nation" over the "tragic, unnecessary shooting death" of Martin. LINK

Red, Divided and Blue Fly This Independence Day
I think this guy has nailed it...!
__________________________________________
Red, Divided and Blue Fly... This Independence Day
By Ronald Brownstein - From The National Journal
It seems entirely revealing, if dispiriting, that the days before the July Fourth holiday showed Red America and Blue America pulling apart at an accelerating rate.
Of all of our national holidays, Independence Day is the one most intimately rooted in our common history and shared experience.
Yet this year it arrives against a background of polarization, separation, and confrontation in the states and Washington alike. With municipal politics as the occasional exception, the pattern of solidifying agreement within the parties—and widening disagreement between them—is dominating our decisions at every level.
On almost all of our major policy choices, the common thread is that the election of 2012 did not "break the fever" of polarization, as President Obama once hoped it might. Last November, Obama became only the third Democrat in the party's history to win a majority of the popular vote twice.
But congressional Republicans, preponderantly representing the minority that voted against Obama, have conceded almost nothing to his majority—leaving the two sides at a stalemate. Meanwhile, beyond the Beltway, states that lean Democratic and those that lean Republican are separating at a frenetic pace.
Consider a few recent headlines.
The Supreme Court decision upholding the lower-court invalidation of California's Proposition 8 restored gay marriage in the nation's largest state. It also capped a remarkable 2013 march for gay marriage through blue states, including Delaware, Minnesota, and Rhode Island (with Illinois and New Jersey possibly joining before long).
The consensus is solidifying fast enough that 2014 could see several blue-state Republican gubernatorial candidates running on accepting gay-marriage statutes as settled law. Former California Lt. Gov Abel Maldonado, a likely 2014 GOP gubernatorial contender who this week reversed his earlier opposition to support gay marriage, may be an early straw in that breeze.
The story in red states, though, remains very different.
Almost all of them have banned gay marriage. Some activists believe Justice Anthony Kennedy's embrace of equal-protection arguments in the decision striking down the federal Defense of Marriage Act might enable litigation challenging those bans; but if not, it may take a very long time for the support for gay marriage among younger voters to dissolve the resistance to the idea in culturally conservative states.
Absent further Supreme Court action, the nation could remain a "house divided" on gay marriage for longer than many may expect: The high court's ruling striking down the remaining 16 state laws banning interracial marriage came in 1967—nearly two centuries after the first state had revoked its ban (Pennsylvania in 1780).
Meanwhile, as gay marriage advances in blue states, red states are competing to impose the tightest restrictions on abortion since the Supreme Court established the national right to it in Roe v. Wade.
In Ohio this week, Republican Gov. John Kasich signed legislation requiring ultrasound exams before abortions, effectively cutting off funding for Planned Parenthood and making it more difficult for abortion providers to transfer patients to public hospitals. In Texas, after the dramatic filibuster by Democratic state Sen. Wendy Davis temporarily disrupted his plans, Republican Gov. Rick Perry this week opened another legislative special session that is likely to ban abortion at 20 weeks and impose stringent new safety requirements that would shutter most of the state's abortion providers.
All of this follows a cascade of legislation restricting abortion in Republican-run states from Arkansas and Louisiana to Kansas and North Dakota—most of which are already facing legal challenges.
In Washington, there's little sign of convergence.
Hopes for a budget "grand bargain" are flickering. In the Senate, the two parties have worked together to pass a farm bill, and more dramatically a sweeping immigration overhaul that won support from all 54 Democrats and 14 Republicans.
But House Republicans, who recently collapsed into chaos when they couldn't pass a farm bill, are pledging to block any reform that includes a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants—an indispensable component of legislation as far as Democrats are concerned. On big issues, the Supreme Court looks just as chronically divided, and the split often comes down to Republican- and Democratic-appointed justices.
All of this reveals a political system losing its capacity to create common ground between party coalitions divided along economic, racial, generational, and even religious lines. Some variation in state policy is healthy, but states are now diverging to an extent that threatens to undermine equal protection under the law.
The stalemate in Congress reflects genuine differences, but the reluctance to compromise—most intractable among House Republicans—prevents us from confronting common challenges.
In all these ways, our contemporary politics is ignoring the simple truth that none of us are going away—not the cosmopolitan coasts, nor the evangelical South. Our choices ultimately come down to bridging our differences or surrendering to endemic separation in the states and stalemate in Washington.
This week we celebrate the moment when the authors of the Declaration of Independence concluded they had no choice but "to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another." It's an excellent opportunity to consider how ominously our own "political bands" are fraying.

Another White House Play Date with Muslim Jihad...
Another White House Play Date with Muslim Jihad
There are far more dangerous bigots and poisonous haters spoiling the American landscape. They cook up violent rhetoric and murderous plots against our troops, our citizens and our allies 24/7.
And they have direct access to the White House.
Earlier this week, the indefatigable Investigative Project on Terrorism blew the whistle on the Obama administration's latest flirtation with Muslim jihad.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah bragged on his website that he had met with Team Obama on June 13.
IPT reported that bin Bayyah was invited by National Security Council official Gayle Smith "to learn from you and we need to be looking for new mechanisms to communicate with you and the Association of Muslim Scholars."
Someone associated with bin Bayyah deleted his website reference to the meeting, but the Internet is forever.
The White House has now 'fessed up to the confab.
According to Fox News, a senior official spun the troubling event as a discussion about "poverty, global health efforts and bin Bayyah's own efforts to speak out against al-Qaida."
Bin Bayyah's moderate Muslim costume shouldn't fool anyone.
This sharia thug, who has worked with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to boost his progressive-friendly cred, lobbied the United Nations to outlaw all mockery and criticism of Allah.
He raised money to benefit the terror group Hamas.
He is a top lieutenant of Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Yusuf Qaradawi, who exhorts followers to kill every last Jew; sanctioned suicide bombings and the killing of our soldiers; expressed support for executing apostates and stoning gays; and declared that the "U.S. is an enemy of Islam that has already declared war on Islam under the disguise of war on terrorism and provides Israel with unlimited support."
As jihad watchdogs have reported, the administration has rolled out the red carpet for dozens of Muslim Brotherhood officers, flacks and sympathizers.
IPT noted last year: "White House visitor logs show that top U.S. policy-makers are soliciting and receiving advice from people who, at best, view the war on terrorism as an unchecked war on Muslims. These persons' perspectives and preferred policies handcuff law enforcement and weaken our resolve when it comes to confronting terrorism."
No kidding. Another Qaradawi cheerleader, Hisham al-Talib, was welcomed last spring at the White House by Obama's Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Four days later, White House officials welcomed a foreign delegation of the radical sharia-enforcing Muslim Brotherhood from Egypt.
As I reported previously, al-Talib is an Iraqi-born Muslim identified by the FBI as a Muslim Brotherhood operative and a major contributor to the left-wing Center for Constitutional Rights, the group of jihadi-sympathizing lawyers who helped spring suspected Benghazi terror plotter Abu Sufian bin Qumu from Gitmo.
Al-Talib is also a founding member of the SAAR Foundation and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT).
FBI and Customs officials believe SAAR/SAFA laundered money for a plethora of violent Muslim terrorist groups, from Hamas and Hezbollah to al-Qaida and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Investigative journalist Patrick Poole reported recently that the Obama DOJ dropped planned prosecutions of IIIT leaders including al-Talib, despite being "targeted and repeatedly named in the 2003 U.S. Customs Service search warrant application by Customs Agent David Kane targeting the SAAR Foundation/SAFA Group terror finance network."
I I I T (International Institute of Islamic Thought) was also a demonstrated unindicted co-conspirator in the feds' Holy Land Foundation terror financing case and supported convicted terror aides Sami al-Arian and Abdul Rahman al-Amoudi.
Al-Amoudi was the first president of the Islamic Society of Boston mosque, where Boston bomber jihad brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, used to worship.
We need a zero tolerance policy for jihadist infiltrators and coddlers in Washington.
Let's make the most transparent administration ever live up to the hype.
I suggest the White House be required to raise the black flag of Islamic jihad at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue every time President Obama welcomes these treacherous visitors.
Even better: Let's take a page from Kanye West and project the names of all the Ikhwan-linked goons who are allowed to darken the White House doorstep onto the side of the Old Executive Office Building for all to see — along with their most infamous hate videos and fatwas against Jews, infidels, gays, women and U.S. soldiers.
No more play dates with Muslim jihad behind closed doors.
Light 'em up.

If Paula Dean Is Racist, Then So Am I !!!
But here's a little something to do with race...
Think about it...
Being White.....
I have been wondering about why Whites are racist and no other race is...
How many are actually paying attention to this?
There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc.
And then there are just Americans..
You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.
You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman'...
And all that's OK...
But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink ..
You call me a racist!
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you....
So why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund.
You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah.
You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi.
You have the NAACP.
You have BET....
___________
If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.
If we had White History Month, we'd be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR lives, we'd be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.
Wonder who pays for that??
A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but any color can be in the Miss America pageant.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships... You know we'd be racists.
There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US ... Yet if there were 'White colleges', that would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights.
If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it.
But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
You rob us, car jack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.
I am proud...... But you call me a racist.
Why is it that only Whites can be racists??

AVOID THE NEED FOR SPYING USING ONE NOT-SO-WEIRD TRICK
AVOID THE NEED FOR SPYING USING ONE NOT-SO-WEIRD TRICK
By Ann Coulter
Well, of course the government is spying on Americans! Look at the havoc caused by American citizens engaging in terrorism.
There's "American citizen" David Coleman Headley, who conspired with Pakistani military officers to commit the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, that left more than 160 people dead.
Headley's ancestors served under Gen. George Washington -- no, I'm sorry, Headley was born "Daood Sayed Gilani" in Washington, D.C., to a Pakistani father. Like your typical American boy, he enjoyed TV's "Happy Days" and murdering innocent people in terrorist attacks.
There were the 20 "American" men from the Minneapolis area who joined a terrorist group in Somalia in 2008. I knew the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party would cause trouble one of these days!
No, wait -- wrong again. We invited these foreign terrorists to immigrate here after the collapse of Somalia's government in 1991. (And what a great deal for America that was! I'm so glad Obama's doing it again with Syrian rebels.)
These hardworking Somali immigrants produced -- in the words of The New York Times -- "the first known American suicide bomber"! Go U.S.A.! Who could have guessed that Shirwa Ahmed would be America's first suicide bomber? (My money had been on a guy named "Jim Peterson.")
In addition to the first suicide bomber, the other American citizens who joined the terrorist group included Cabdulaahi Ahmed Faarax, Abdiweli Yassin Isse and Mahamud Said Omar.
If you can't trust "American citizen" Cabdulaahi Ahmed Faarax, what Americans can you trust these days? Or to quote Sen. Bob Casey, the mentally disabled Democratic senator from Pennsylvania: "It's really disturbing -- Americans becoming radicalized."
Then there were the six "New Jersey men" who plotted a terrorist attack on the Fort Dix military base in 2007. Using rocket-propelled grenade launchers, they estimated they could kill at least 100 soldiers.
Chris Christie, then the U.S. attorney for New Jersey, said surveillance tapes showed the men watching videos of Americans being killed in Afghanistan.
"(T)hey watched the blowing off of the arm of a United States Marine and the room burst out into laughter," Christie said. "These are the types of people we are dealing with."
The New Jersey men were named Mohamad Shnewer, Serdar Tatar, Agron Abdullahu, Dritan Duka, Eljvir Duka and Shain Duka. Four were from the former Yugoslavia, one was from Turkey and one was from Jordan. All were illegal aliens.
But we needed them! As Marco Rubio's staff recently told The New Yorker, American workers "can't cut it."
If the government can spy on Cherry Hill's Mohamad Shnewer, how can we draw the line at Fox News' James Rosen and CBS News' Sharyl Attkisson?
Then there's "American citizen" Maj. Nidal Hasan, who is still collecting his handsome military salary -- up to nearly $300,000 by now -- since being accused of a terrorist attack on Fort Hood that left 13 dead and dozens wounded.
And don't forget "American citizen" Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, accused of conspiring with his brother to bomb the Boston Marathon earlier this year.
My favorite "American citizen" is Najibullah Zazi, arrested in 2009 for plotting to bomb the New York subways. Zazi was born into a tribe in eastern Afghanistan and came to America in his teens. His ticket to entry was his father, whose ticket was, in turn, a brother living in Queens.
(We have no room for Scottish bankers because we have to make room for entire villages of illiterates from Afghanistan, thanks to Teddy Kennedy's 1965 Immigration Act.)
Zazi's own step-uncle described him as "a dumb kid, believe me," according to The New York Times. (Sorry, Scottish bankers -- that's our immigration law!)
He dropped out of high school and had an arranged marriage to his cousin in Pakistan. So Zazi is another big immigrant success story.
Forget the recent Muslim immigration problem. Virtually all enemies to America have been foreigners. The only known Italian traitors in U.S. history were anarchist terrorists Sacco and Vanzetti: immigrants.
Reading the amazing new book, Stalin's Secret Agents: The Subversion of Roosevelt's Government by M. Stanton Evans and Herb Romerstein, one can't help but notice that J. Edgar Hoover's job would have been a lot easier if our immigration service had been doing its job. A shockingly high percentage of the communist spies were immigrants. This is all the more striking considering that there weren't that many immigrants getting in at all back then.
Even the commies didn't want to overthrow the United States as such -- only to support Moscow. Otherwise, they'd have just kept voting Democrat and gotten there a little more slowly.
That's why the National Security Act of 1947, creating the CIA, expressly prohibited the agency from engaging in domestic operations. Now we have to spy on Americans because of all the imported Tsarnaevs and Zazis. We have created two huge problems where none existed before -- domestic terrorism and government spying -- all to help the Democrats win elections by changing the electorate.
Not only do our post-1965 immigration policies create an unemployment problem, not only have they massively increased the crime rate, but now all Americans are being asked to give up their civil liberties to fulfill Teddy Kennedy's dream of bringing the entire Third World to live right here in America. (And vote Democrat!)
When we're referring to "American citizen Anwar al-Awlaki" -- provoking Rand Paul to carry on for 13 hours about Obama killing an "American citizen" with a drone -- the phrase "American citizen" has lost its essential meaning. We don't have a drone problem. We don't have a spying problem.
We have an immigration problem.

This Is What REAL Leadersip Looks Like!
This character Obama is an imposter and completely impotent as a leader. He would rather play golf, chat with his Muslim buddies, or take several vacations each year... Including one coming up to S. Africa that's going to cost us taxpayers $100,000,000!
This is what REAL Leadership looks like folks...

Our Lazy Muslim President...
Charles Krauthammer’s Potentially Damaging Theory: Benghazi’s ‘Biggest Scandal of All’ Has Yet to Be Uncovered
Columnist Charles Krauthammer on the “O’Reilly Factor” Tuesday night said the “biggest scandal of all” regarding the Benghazi attacks on Sept. 11, 2012, has yet to emerge.
“I think there is a bigger story here, here’s the one that will in time come out,” Krauthammer said. ”The biggest scandal of all, the biggest question is: What was the president doing in those eight hours?”
“He had a routine meeting at five o’clock. He never after, during the eight hours when our guys have their lives in danger, he never called the Secretary of Defense, he never calls the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, he never calls the CIA Director,” Krauthammer continued.
“Who does he call? About five hours in he calls the Secretary of State. And after the phone call she releases a statement essentially about the video and how we denounce any intolerance. It looks as if the only phone call was to construct a cover story at a time when the last two Americans who died were still alive and fighting for their lives. There’s the scandal and that has to be uncovered.”
Krauthammer’s thoughts come as the Obama administration is in the throes of several other scandals, including the IRS targeting conservative groups and two cases of the Department of Justice conducting investigations into leaks that involved obtaining Associated Press reporters’ phone records and the emails of Fox News reporter James Rosen.
Also on the show, Krauthammer addressed Attorney General Eric Holder who has been under fire for how the Justice Department obtained information regarding members of the media for its investigations.
Krauthammer said he thinks Holder “would have to go because he is a liability to the president.” A couple weeks ago, President Barack Obama said he had “complete confidence in Eric Holder as attorney general.”
Krauthammer acknowledged Obama’s support for Holder but said “now he learns that he clearly did not say the truth, and he can’t pretend that he didn’t remember because he signs a lot of stuff.
“Because the release from the Department of Justice was, he didn’t only sign the search warrant against Rosen that essentially named him as a co-defendant, criminal co-defendant, he actually discussed it. So he can’t say like Hillary did, ‘Oh, I sign a lot of stuff. I can’t remember,’” Krauthammer said.

This Is What's REALLY Wrong With America!
How is it, that the Department of Justice can just walk in and demand records and spy on FOX News and The AP, then on another day, the Head of the IRS in Cincinnati, sitting in a Congressional Hearing about the targeting of Conservative Groups, just get up and walk out, saying, "I Have Done Nothing Wrong! And I will not answer any questions!"
Where are we living... Communist Russia?
Do these idiots in power believe that we will simply 'stand by and do nothing?'
THIS MUST STOP NOW!
We must remove these imposters that are trying to destroy our AMERICA!!!

Ken Venturi... Rest In Peace
We have lost Ken Venturi...
If you had listened to a golf broadcast in the 80's or 90's, even the early 2000's, you heard Ken's voice from the broadcast booth.
He was quite a legend and a joy to listen to...
- As a side note... I've played Harding Park on several occasions, and let me tell you, it's no cake walk!
Here's a report from the AP and Washington Post -
Ken Venturi, US Open golf champion and longtime broadcaster, dies at 82
Ken Venturi, who overcame dehydration to win the 1964 U.S. Open and spent 35 years in the booth for CBS Sports, died Friday afternoon.
He was 82.
His son, Matt Venturi, said he died in a hospital in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Venturi had been hospitalized the last two months for a spinal infection, pneumonia, and then an intestinal infection that he could no longer fight.
Venturi died 11 days after he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
He couldn’t make it to the induction. His sons, Matt and Tim, accepted on his behalf after an emotional tribute by Jim Nantz, who worked alongside Venturi at CBS.
“When dad did receive the election into the Hall of Fame, he had a twinkle in his eye, and that twinkle is there every day,” Tim Venturi said that night.
Venturi was all about overcoming the odds.
A prominent amateur who grew up in San Francisco, he captured his only major in the 1964 U.S. Open at Congressional, the last year the final round was 36 holes. In oppressive heat, Venturi showed signs of dehydration and a doctor recommended he stop playing because it could be fatal. Venturi pressed on to the finish, closed with a 70 and was heard to say, “My God, I’ve won the U.S. Open.”
He had a severe stuttering problem as a child, yet went on to become one of the familiar voices in golf broadcasting. He began working for CBS in 1968 and lasted 35 years.
“We all knew what a wonderful player Ken Venturi was, and how he fashioned a second successful career as an announcer,” Jack Nicklaus said. “But far more important than how good he was at playing the game or covering it, Ken was my friend. Ken was fortunate in that the game of golf gave him so much, but without question, Ken gave back far more to the game he loved than he ever gained from it. Over the years, Ken developed a circle of friends that is enormous and whose collective heart is heavy today.”
Venturi played on one Ryder Cup team and was U.S. captain in the 2000 Presidents Cup.
“His tremendous accomplishments on the golf course were certainly Hall of Fame worthy on their own, but in Ken one finds a rare example of a golfer whose second career, in television, rivaled the legendary status of his competitive achievements,” PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem said. “His unique perspective and poetic delivery as an announcer enhanced countless memorable moments in golf, making his voice and presence as in indelible as the historic tournaments he covered. Ken will forever be remembered as a consummate gentleman, and he will be truly missed.”
Venturi was born May 15, 1931, in San Francisco, and he developed his game at Harding Park Golf Course. He won the California State Amateur at Pebble Beach in 1951 and 1956, while serving in the Army in Korea between those two amateur titles.
His stammering problem is what led him to golf.
“When I was 13 years old, the teacher told my mother, ‘I’m sorry, Mrs. Venturi, but your son will never be able to speak. He’s an incurable stammerer,’” Venturi said in 2011. “My mother asked me what I planned to do. I said, ‘I’m taking up the loneliest sport I know,’ and picked up a set of hickory shaft across the street from a man and went to Harding Park and played my first round of golf.”
As an amateur, he was the 54-hole leader in the 1956 Masters until closing with an 80, and he was runner-up at Augusta National in 1960 to Arnold Palmer, who birdied the last two holes.
He turned pro and won his first PGA Tour at the St. Paul Open Invitational. Venturi won eight times over the next three years, including the Los Angeles Open and the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am at Pebble Beach, before injuries started to affect his game after nearly winning the 1960 Masters.
He hurt his back in 1961 and badly injured his wrist in a car accident the next year. He missed the U.S. Open three straight years until he narrowly qualified for Congressional. It turned out to be an epic final day for the Californian coping with broiling heat.
Venturi shot 66 in the third round, but was feeling weak during the break before the final round that afternoon. John Everett, a doctor and member at Congressional, checked on him and found a normal pulse but symptoms of dehydration.
“Dr. Everett told me ... I was lying next to my locker and he says, ‘I suggest that you don’t go out. It could be fatal,’” Venturi said in 2011 when he returned to Congressional for the U.S. Open. “I looked up at him and I said, ‘Well, it’s better than the way I’ve been living.’ And I got off the floor, and I do not remember walking to the first tee. I don’t remember the front nine until I started coming into it.”
Venturi was so shaken, so weak, when it was over that his final act was to sign the scorecard. He couldn’t even read the numbers. Joe Dey, the executive director of the USGA, looked over his shoulder, checked the scores and told him to sign it.
Sports Illustrated honored him as its “Sportsman of the Year” in 1964.
Venturi won three more times, his last win coming in 1966 at the Lucky International at Harding Park, where it all started.
He eventually developed Carpel Tunnel Syndrome in his hands and was forced to retire. That’s when he moved into the booth as the lead analyst for CBS Sports, and his voice filled living rooms for the next 35 years until he retired in 2002.
“He was a deeply principled man with a dynamic presence. He just exuded class,” Nantz said. “Through his competitive days and unequalled broadcasting career, Kenny became a human bridge connecting everyone from Sarazen, Nelson and Hogan to the greatest players of today’s generation. Kenny faced many adversities in his life and always found a way to win.”
Venturi was elected to the Hall of Fame through the Lifetime Achievement category. Nantz gave an emotional tribute that night, and then called Venturi’s two sons to the stage to hold the trophy because “we need to put the crystal in the hands of the Venturi family.”
“If there is some sense of fairness, it is that Ken was inducted into a Hall of Fame that he very much deserved to be in and, in fact, should have been in for many years,” Nicklaus said. “While I know he was not able to be there in person for his induction, I am certain there was an overwhelming sense of pride and peace that embraced Ken. It was a dream of Ken Venturi’s that became a reality before he sadly left us.”
Venturi is survived his wife of 10 years, Kathleen, and his two sons. Matt Venturi said services were pending.

Sarah Palin Rocks The NRA Convention!
Palin to NRA: Media Allow Obama to Exploit Tragedies to Push Gun Control
By Kevin Scholla
From Brietbart.com
HOUSTON --
Speaking at the National Rifle Association (NRA) convention on Friday, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin accused the mainstream media of allowing President Barack Obama to exploit tragedies like Newtown to push for more gun control and defended the pro-Second Amendment organization that has been vilified after the gun-related incidents.
Palin pointed out the same media that "tore apart" former President George W. Bush for using images of the 9/11 attacks in ads now serve as cheerleaders for Obama, whom she accused of using the victims of tragedies like Newtown as "backdrops in his perpetual campaign-style press events."
"That same media is now a reliable, poodle-skirted cheerleader for a president who writes the book on exploiting tragedy," Palin said.
Along with Obama, Palin also called out Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, and Dianne Feinstein for exploiting "emotions for their own agenda."
"It's not just self serving," Palin said. "It's destructive, and it must stop."
Palin told the law-abiding, patriotic group at the conference that the "struggle to protect our Second Amendment rights is spotlighting once again how broken Washington is."
"Leaders are in it for themselves, not for the American people," Palin said while wearing an Under Armour 'Women Hunt' T-shirt.
This year's NRA theme is “Stand and Fight," and it was appropriate given how fiercely Palin has stood her ground against the attacks and has fought for gun owners without wavering.
Showing once again that she can use props to effectively deliver a message, Palin whipped out a tin of smokeless tobacco when addressing the hypocrisy of New York City Mayor Bloomberg, who wants to ban the display of even legal tobacco products.
"Don't make me do it," Palin said, of potentially dipping, which was also a reference to her CPAC speech in which she sipped a Big Gulp on stage to highlight the ridiculousness of Bloomberg's proposed soda ban.
The move was met with laughs and cheers, similar to the response her Big Gulp moment received at CPAC.
She joked that she swiped the dip from Todd, and he had been looking for it all morning.
Palin specifically singled out Bloomberg, who she said was "bitterly clinging to notion government must control the people and all aspects of life."
She called him out for his hypocrisy for wanting to ban guns even though he has armed body guards.
Palin said those like Bloomberg have the mindset of, "What's right for thee is not right for me."
The atmosphere in the room turned even more serious when Palin used the Kermit Gosnell case as an example of how sorely the media lack integrity regarding the monstrous mass murderer" of babies. She said the media's silence on the matter ultimately erodes the country's freedoms.
Palin said the battle for the Second Amendment was personal to her, citing her son who is in the military.
"This fight is about what kind of people we are," Palin said. She added that she wants her son Trig to grow up in an exceptional country, and the Second Amendment is a necessary component.
Palin said what drives her -- and those who are likeminded -- when they are scorned, vilified, and discounted is the spirit of Americans who stand up for the country's freedoms even in the face of such relentless hostility.
"What keeps us reloading in this fight is the faces I see here today," Palin said. "I love you guys."
Palin closed out her optimistic speech while those in attendance gave her a thunderous and rousing standing ovation.
"Keep the faith," Palin implored.
"Stand up for our freedoms."
Palin was speaking at the conference just weeks after the Toomey-Manchin gun control bill was defeated. Breitbart Sports was at the conference, and attendees were inspired and felt her words and resolve were needed and great news for the NRA, liberty, and, ultimately, for America.

So... Gun Control Really Works?
In Illinois, they have some of the strictest gun control in the country. No Concealed carry permits are issued to citizens, and the state DOES NOT recognise any permits from other states.
And, when a firearm is being transported, it must be unloaded and enclosed in a case.
To legally possess firearms or ammunition, Illinois residents must have a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card, issued by the state police.
So How does this happen...?
3 dead, 17 wounded in shootings across Chicago overnight
From The Chicago Tribune
By Adam Sege, Deanese Williams-Harris and Jeremy Gorner - Tribune reporters
At least three people were killed and 17 wounded in shootings across Chicago overnight as the city saw its warmest weather in seven months.
In one of the fatal shootings, three men were shot in a parking lot across the street from the headquarters of the UIC Police Department, police said. The shooting happened around 10:40 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Maxwell Street, Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
All three men were taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County. The conditions of two of them, 19 and 21, were stabilized at the hospital, Greer said. The third man, 19-year-old Tytrell Jackson, was pronounced dead at 11:13 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
About 12:10 a.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in the chest in the 6800 block of South Cornell Avenue, in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.
The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:53 a.m. The medical examiner's office identified him as Darrin Rodgers, of the 6800 block of South Cornell.
About 1:20 a.m., gunfire claimed another life, this time in the Lawndale neighborhood.
Police responding to the scene found a 23-year-old man lying in an alley near the 1900 block of South Drake Avenue, bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.
Pierre Howelett, of the 14300 block of South Halsted Street in Harvey, died on the scene, according to the medical examiner's office.
Earlier, about 7 p.m., three men were shot near the intersection of East 71st Street and South Jeffrey Boulevard, police said. An 18-year-old man, a 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were shot, according to Chicago Fire Department officials.
The younger two victims were taken to Northwestern and Stroger, and the 23-year-old refused medical attention for a graze wound.
About 6:15 p.m., three people were shot in the 10800 block of South Princeton Avenue at 6:13 p.m., according to fire officials. They were taken to Stroger Hospital and MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, officials said. The condition of a 16-year-old boy had stabilized, and two men, ages 40 and 44, were listed in serious-to-critical condition.
In other shootings since Tuesday afternoon:
•About 9:15 p.m. a police officer shot a 25-year-old man during a foot chase near the intersection of East 89th Street and South Brandon Ave. The man was shot multiple times but was expected to survive, according to Pat Camden, a spokesman for the Fraternal Order of Police. Accounts from residents and police differ.
•A 16-year-old boy was shot in a drive-by shooting about 11:50 p.m. in the 100 block of West 68th Street, Greer said. The boy was taken to Stroger, where his condition was stabilized.
•About 11:45 p.m., someone with a shotgun opened fire on two 20-year-old men walking in an alley near the 800 block of West 51st Street, police said. One man was struck multiple times, and the other sustained a gunshot wound to the upper back. Both were taken to St. Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, where they were listed in good condition.

So Gun Control reduces violence, huh?
Give me a break...
Guns are inanimate objects!
They just lay there until a person picks them up.
GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE... PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE!
Removing guns from law abiding citizens doesn't create a safer city...
It creates a city of slaves!

To legally possess firearms or ammunition, Illinois residents must have a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card, issued by the state police.
So How does this happen...?

Ted Nugent Calls For Public Hanging Of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev

And I believe I'm in TOTAL agreement with him!
From Radio.com
Ted Nugent Calls For Public Hanging Of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
Right-wing rocker Ted Nugent has taken to his column to call for the public hanging of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, one of the now-charged Boston Marathon bombers.
The column, titled “Time To Stretch Neck Of Jihadist Punk,” was posted on the right wing website WND over the weekend. Stressing the need for quick justice, he (mostly) avoided his frequent talking points (fighting against gun control, criticizing Democrats and President Obama).
Using his usual colorful language, Nugent refers to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his now-killed brother Tamerlan using the term “voodoo” 13 times in his article, and calls for “stretching their necks” three times.
In the piece, he laments that Tsarnaev will likely spent years in custody before being sentenced: “Justice is supposed to be swift. At least that’s how our Founding Fathers thought it should be,” speculating that, 150 years ago “he would have been swinging from an oak tree in Boston Common no longer than 60 days from the date of his arrest. That would be justice.”
Nugent predicts: “He probably won’t go to trial for more than a year due to court-sanctioned delays. Once he’s found guilty, he will be afforded any number of appeals that will take more years, possibly more than a decade. The young voodoo nut has got a long life in front of him, thanks to America’s screwed-up justice system.”
He cites the trial of Nidal Malik Hasan, set to start May 29 (Hasan is accused of killing 13 soldiers and wounding 32 others at Fort Hood in 2009), as an example of crimes against Americans taking a long time to reach the court.
While “The Nuge” didn’t bring up gun control specifically (though he had a bit to say about it last week), he did note that Hasan’s “voodoo-inspired rampage” took place “in yet another gun-free zone.” Nugent added, “I would have supplied the rope, the lumber for the gallows and gladly pulled the hatch on this soulless rabid dog.”
Citing the speed in which John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated President Lincoln in 1865, was executed (less than three months after the murder), he says, “had our modern system of justice been in play in 1865, Booth’s conspirators would have died in prison of old age instead of having their necks properly stretched.” He laments that the American Justice system “has been hijacked by soulless lawyers and is being terrorized by years and years of intentionally engineered costly delays.”
Nugent closes with, “My dream of real justice would be a July 4 celebration of stringing this son-of-a-b**** up in the Boston Common and letting the crows pick on his rotting flesh. There will be no swift justice for the Boston voodoo punk. He’s got a long life ahead of him. How pathetic.”

Who's The Bomber? I'm The Bomber! You're The Bomber Too!
Last Monday's horrific terrorist act at The Boston Marathon has left me speachless!
First, our fearless leader says that the bombing was the work of 'Tax Day Protesters", or "Tea Party Members"! Then the liberal media says, "It was Right Wingers" that set off the bomb!
Then they say that 2 young men from Chechnya were the prime suspects?!? Of course they say they had 'video evidence' of the two, and put out a nation wide alert for us citizens to find them and call the FBI!
The younger of the 2 went to his school and worked out on Wednesday! Was he innocent? Or was he 'playing possum' and trying to blend in and not be considered a suspect? Do you have any answers? I sure dont!
Then the two steal a car, get into a gunfight with police where the elder brother is killed many time over, I might add. And the younger brother gets away?!
How does that happen?
So the younger brother, wounded and hiding is finally found laying in a boat in a back yard. Has the media and the authorities already convicted these guys?
First, I don't believe ANYTHING the media says. Second, why let this whole scenario play out on every channel? Can't the FBI and other crime fighters do this without all the manic publicity? And third, like their realitives have said, 'they were set-up', or someone has 'framed them'. Are their realitives that naive? Or, are they part of the 'terrorist cell'?
Gosh, I hope the younger boy survives his wounds and I hope we can get some answers!
In the mean time, I still live by my bumper sticker...
"Never Trust ANY Muslim!"

Media Blackout of NRA 500 Name At Texas Motor Speedway?
From The Blaze -
Did the AP, ESPN, and Fox Refuse to Mention ‘NRA 500′ by Official Name? What We Found May Surprise You
If you thought that the media was fueling an anti-NRA bias in the wake of the group sponsoring a NASCAR race in Texas, the Associated Press (AP), ESPN, and even reportedly Fox fueled that theory with their handling of the race’s coverage.
The AP wrote an entire article without referencing the race’s official name, the NRA 500. ESPN’s live, 1am ET edition of SportsCenter did the same thing.
TheBlaze also received several tips from those who watched the race on Fox’s local affiliates saying the network, too, seemed to be erasing the NRA from it’s paid-for position.
But further examination reveals that the three outlets seem to have been simply keeping in line with the way they’ve recently handled official race names, specifically when looking at last week’s race in Martinsville as a comparison.
And here’s a more complete version:
So... What's the deal? Is EVERYBODY afraid of guns? That's just stupid liberal hogwash!
I support The NRA, and The 2nd Amendment, AND, The Consitution of The United States of America!
Deal with it you freeking liberal, commie, socialist, un-American jerks!

The coverage and complaints
The AP’s recap of the NRA 500, titled “Kyle Busch gets NASCAR weekend sweep at Texas,” references “Texas Motor Speedway” and “Saturday night in the Sprint Cup race,” while also mentioning the controversy surrounding the “National Rifle Association.” But it never goes on to mention the full race name.
Similarly, on Saturday’s early morning recap of the race on ESPN the anchors used more generic references to the race being in Texas. Likewise, the network’s graphics never showed the race’s correct, full name.
Here’s the official version on the ESPN YouTube channel:
